Nehemia 1:2

1:2 Hanani, who was one of my relatives, ¹  along with some of the men from Judah, came to me, ²  and I asked them about the Jews who had escaped and had survived the exile, and about Jerusalem. ³ 

Nehemia 1:9

1:9 But if you repent ⁴  and obey ⁵  my commandments and do them, then even if your dispersed people are in the most remote location, ⁶  I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen for my name to reside.’

Nehemia 2:18

2:18 Then I related to them how the good hand of my God was on me and what ⁷  the king had said to me. Then they replied, “Let’s begin rebuilding right away!” ⁸  So they readied themselves ⁹  for this good project.

Nehemia 5:13

5:13 I also shook out my garment, ¹³  and I said, “In this way may God shake out from his house and his property every person who does not carry out ¹⁴  this matter. In this way may he be shaken out and emptied!” All the assembly replied, “So be it!” and they praised the LORD. Then the people did as they had promised. ¹⁵ 

Nehemia 6:6

6:6 Written in it were the following words:

“Among the nations it is rumored ¹⁶  (and Geshem ¹⁷  has substantiated ¹⁸  this) that you and the Jews have intentions of revolting, and for this reason you are building the wall. Furthermore, according to these rumors ¹⁹  you are going to become their king.

Nehemia 9:35

9:35 Even when they were in their kingdom and benefiting from your incredible ²⁰  goodness that you had lavished ²¹  on them in the spacious and fertile land you had set ²²  before them, they did not serve you, nor did they turn from their evil practices.

Nehemia 10:31

10:31 We will not buy ²³  on the Sabbath or on a holy day from the neighboring peoples who bring their wares and all kinds of grain to sell on the Sabbath day. We will let the fields lie fallow every seventh year, and we will cancel every loan. ²⁴

The Population of Jerusalem

11:1 So the leaders of the people settled in Jerusalem, ²⁵  while the rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of every ten to settle in Jerusalem, the holy city, while the other nine ²⁶  remained in other cities.
